Flash Play Sign-Up (opens 6/1)
This fun event is open to all rising 9th graders, current Pope HS students, and recent graduates. We will be producing an entire play (about 30 minutes) in 24 hours including lights, sound, costumes, etc. Bring your friends for a exciting day full of adrenaline and theatre.
EVERYBODY will be in the show. No one will be cut. Auditions & the questions on the form above are to help us place you - tech or performance. We will need 4 production teams (Directors, SMs, Costumes, etc.) and up to 20 actors.
Audition Date: July 25, 2:00p - 4:00p
1 monologue (comedic or dramatic); Total audition should be 2 minutes or less. Need help finding a monologue? Try these.
Rehearsal: July 26, 7a-6p
Performance: July 26, 7p
Strike: July 26 immediately after the performance (EVERYTHING must be put away and cleared out of the PAC.)
Synopsis:
Competition is all that matters, and these kids today have got to learn that...by being pitted against each other in an absurdly grueling four-part race. Winner gets a scholarship. Come in last? You're banned from prom. The parents love it! But when different groups at the beginning, middle, and end of the pack compare notes, commiserate and meet a local cautionary tale, they decide to play a different game altogether. An inventively-staged, hilariously surreal winner of a one-act comedy. Because winning is all that matters in life, right? ...Right?!?
